Has anyone ever given you cool points for simply being yourself? What did you do, and how did it feel? |
Issue Did you ever have a moment where you were just doing your thing and somebody noticed it and said that it was cool? Did you already know it was cool? Did you try to impress anyone by doing it again? Do you need to feel the things you do are considered cool? Or can you stand outside the "norm" and be who you are, nerdy warts and all? (We all have some amount of nerdiness about us or we would not be on Yahoo Tips, so don't even try to slide past it. Do you celebrate your uniqueness or try to deny it?) Best Tip I'm a pretty straight forward person that doesn't truly care what others think, but I do try to express myself in a respectful way. I live as I want and can back up my actions with my thoughts and rationale. I once had someone say.. your honesty is contagious. That was pretty cool to hear. Differences in people is what makes the world an interesting place. I just wish people would try to accept others while standing on thier own feet. See right and wrong, but don't prejudge or assume anything. Good question! Others Am just what I am. I feel dilated. I am me. If I am a nerd then I shall embrace it. If somebody likes me for me then great, but I refuse to be someone I am not for the sake of impressing someone else. I have met people in person who first met me on line, and some have been surprised that I am exactly the same in person as I was on line. I didn't understand that at first, but as I got to know people off line I LEARNED! We are who we are, and that is what makes each of us unique. It should not matter what others think. Life is too precious and far too short to worry about fitting in or being "normal". Those who accept who you are without trying to change you are the best people in the world. I have met enough people in bizarre ways, but those that did not act like they were any better were, I think, the most confident in who they were and not who others expected them to be. People tell me I butter like I'm in a commercial, peanut butter is my medium of choice. i celebrate my uniqueness, in style! i completely embrace it. i hate being "mass"produced like most girls around my age. the best part is that i didn't have to become a rebel to be unique. ps. thank you so much for the answer that u had given for my question. it was extremely nice of u to be so polite about a very personal question. you obviously seem to be a lot like me and thinks outside the box! i appreciate ur input and the time u spent on it. let us both revel in our uniqueness! all the best for the future |
