how does one stay motivated to clean up after family of 5?

Issue
ages mon dad 42, boy12, girl9 and boy5 most of us are SLOBS please help

Best Tip
Why not have one day a week, (like a saturday morning) where everyone does their chores at once? Turn on some party music and high five the kids as they put their toys away and the kitchen floor get mopped. Don't forget to supervise dad while he mows the lawn and cleans out the garage. And afterward, then it's time to treat the family to some ice cream and come home to a cleaner atmosphere!

Others
get help with it and try to pick up after the use of something . dont leave it for later
Eat on paper plates. Use plastic forks. Frozen food. All this so you don't have to do dishes. Assign tasks to family members to do clothing, dishwashing, mowing, etc....
I have a family of 6 ,draw up a roster for each family member everyone should do there own share...it works for me....
You've gotta get them helping you. Have a family meeting and divvy up the responsibilities. It's time to get hard core on everybody.
Your kids are all big enough to help around the house and so is Dad. If you don't teach your kids how to be clean now, they will never learn. You have a responsibility to take charge of your crew and whip that house into shape.

Make sure to offer lots of praise for good work. People work much harder for compliments than they do to avoid complaints.

I used to make Friday afternoon the day to clean house with my three kids. Turn up the music and make it fun. With all of that help ya'll could have a clean house in two hours or less. Then you get a nice clean house to enjoy for the entire weekend!
Hmmmmmmmmmm this is a good one and glad you asked. First of all try to get the children involved by making a game of it like the boys againist the girls kinda thing and who ever finishes first gets a prize but DON'T MAKE IT A HABIT OF DOING THAT CAUSE THAT WILL BECOME THE ONLY WAY THEY WANT TO HELP YOU WHEN THE CHORES ARE DONE. Then also find other wise to reward like after the chores maybe we will have time to play a game together or go to the park or just play cards or BETTER YET TALK TO ONE ANOTHER AND GET TO KNOWING THEM AND THEM TO KNOWING YOU TOO. IT WOULD fun like say name something you like to do or be if you were the five year old and her you if she were you age and what you would do if you could switch places with mom and dad and say by the way talk to them and let them how you feel about all the load being put on you to do alllllllll alone if that's what it is. Let them know you will like and need help but BE RESPECTFUL OF MOM AND DAD AND ASK KINDLY FOR THE HELP AND YOU WILL GET RESPECT IF ..... YOU BE THE FIRST TO GIVE IT.
