Issue what are the side effects and dangers of ativan or lorazepam withdrawal? Best Tip DO NOT DO THIS ON YOUR OWN IT COULD KILL YOU!!!!! Alcohol and Benzodiazapin withdraw are the only 2 withdrawals that can kill you! Only go off under a doctors strict supervision. Weening off the drug you may become irritable and anxious. Going off to fast will create hallucinations, tremors, severe anxiety, seizures and quite possibly death. I had to get off mine and started with a doc and then went on my own. IT was a living nightmare for 2 weeks! I couldn't sleep, eat or even function. I did get back in touch with my doc for I am alive today! Be careful and only do this under a doctors supervision. I have been on it for 2 years now I have ran out before and just felt like my skin was gonna jump off of me nothing to kill me though yer not supposed to take it all the time .. it will make you drowsey Please know that one is NEVER supposed to abruptly stop any of these anti- anxiety drugs...can be very dangerous. Ativan or generic lorazepm is a cousin to Klonipin which I have taken for 20+ years and I know the downsides to cutting back without Doctors' help. You shound never stop taking mental health drugs without consulting with your doctor first. Expecially drugs like Ativan, Klonapin, and xanax and sometimes even buspar... You will probably feel an increase in anxiety, perhaps you will get very wired, jumpy etc.... Dependin on your dossge, never d/c with out dr orders, eithrt way dosage my be titrated down. the most side common effect, is insominia, feeling like your skin is kralwin is,servere depression, twitches, muscle spams in ur sleep,more anxiety of course, increased heart rate, tremors, rapid speech etc, of the worst a seizure of withdrawl, seizure lead to more dangeous effects on the out come on the cns,etc..... If you dont need to take it then dont, there newer drugs now, safer and non addictive- Sorry for my typos For the best info call your phrm! And or your DR |
