Best Tip There are a couple of ways. 1) You can fill out a mental health warrant if you are over 18 at the local court house 2) You can call 911 and tell them what the person needs 3) You can call the MH facility and ask them how to involuntarily admit someone and they will usually ask some questions, then take it over if they feel the person need an evaluation. Hope this helps, Tink Others There are many "routes" you could possibly go. You could go through a lawyer and show "probable cause" in a court and have a judge court order it. (If this person is a danger to themself or society, a judge can "find it in that person's best interests to be institutionalized", but it's usually only for a short period of time - pending the evaluation given to the judge from said institution.) The only way to get the police involved where i live, is if the person is a threat to themselves or to others...other than that..it is very difficult to get anyone committed to a hospital here...You might try to prove conservership to be able to control the situation...if they have prior mental health records..this would help |
