I have anxiety and panic disorder. Can it make anyone die?

Issue
I have anxiety and panic disorder. Every time when I feel bad on my mind and my body, I feel going to die (heart attact, stroke, and no energy I have). That is 1 think I scared about. Can it make anyone die?

Best Tip
I've lived with anxiety and panic for 7 yrs now. No, it can't make you die. But the actual physical problems that can happen if you let the anxiety go at a high rate for a length of time, can. Anxiety and Panic itself can't kill you. Although it makes you feel as if you will. Seek help, you can have meds or you can go through therapy if you don't want meds. For now, work on relaxtion techniques such as belly breathing, meditation, positive thinking. When you feel your symptoms coming on, try to busy yourself with other things; the more you focus your mind on your symptoms, the worse they seem to be. Learning to stay calm takes a lot of work and some time. If you need anymore ideas on calming techniques I am more than happy to help, I know how it feels.

Do you have high blood pressure?TRUST THE LORD a little more and some of that will go a way.
Only if you don't get help for it. Seek professional psychological help. There are meds out there that can help you with it.
It cannot make you die, yet makes you feel as if you can die. My sister also has the same disorders, and others as well. She was homebound for 9 years and is in the process of now taking baby steps. I could write a whole book about her symptoms and how she is getting herself better. please feel free to email me for any more help. triplehavoc@sbcglobal.net
To ease your fears yes it can cause you to die. But tht dsnt mean it will cause you to die. Quite often this is a self fulfilling prophsey type condition. Im afraid that I will get a head ache and therefore I do... Basically think about not thinking about it all the time.
My wife had this problem. It's all in the mind. In her case, it stemmed from a fire she was in when she was a child. Since then, she's always been fearful of not having enough air. I helped her work through it by talking to her as it was happening and reassuring her that there was plenty of air. It took awhile, but since then, she's only had 2 attacks in the past 5 years.

In all our reading together, we never came across a case where someone died from a panic attack. However, you may want to get checked to make sure there's nothing else wrong because some panic symptoms are similar to other serious conditions. Here's a good article I just found: http://www.cnn.com/health/library/ds/003... . Google some more about it and perhaps find a group in Yahoo Groups of people in your similar situation. You'd be surprised how many people there are in your same situation and how much talking things out can help.

Take care and best of luck!
You actually feel as if you're going to die, but you're not. Most likely you are hyperventillating causing you to feel light-headed. Slowly take deep breaths. Stay aware of your surroundings and repeat to yourself, you're in control, no one knows your anxiety but you. You can handle it. See your doctor for a recommendation for a psychiatrist and psychologist. Learn coping skills from your psychologist. "Self Talk" works for me.
