Is it possible to treat psychosis without using medication? |
Issue I don't like the medication I'm being given (Risperdal) as it makes me drowsy and I can't concentrate. Any views from doctors would be especially valued. Best Tip Risperidol is one of the best and most effective medications to treat anxiety and psychosis. You never mentioned the diagnosis as this is important in determining other medications you can be given, certain diagnosis do not comply with the medications which are perscribed. Also we cannot really give you an acurate awnser as we are not your nurses or physicians.Only they know your medical history and such. I would suggest you see if your medication dosage can be lowered and maybe you can be given a med that coincides with the Risperidol to help with the feelings of being drowsy and not being able to concentrate. Also hang in there it will get better! Your med could be to strong or else your body is adjusting to it. Good Luck! Source(s): I am A Nurse. Others yes my doctor told me to pop the collars on my Lacoste.. and it cured my psychosis. what kind of psychosis? manic psychosis? medication is the best way... seroquel is another one but it will aalso make u drowsy. tell your doctor you feel drowsy and he can give u something else I'm not a doctor but do you recognize that you have a psychosis? If so then I would say yes. Yes it is possible but you need to stay on top of things & have the help of others. I don t know......But if you have wish to be better, and have a family support with some activity in social life I think you don t need a medication,but......I am not a doctor.......If you have some trouble with medication and must take it,just say to your doctor what you feel, and maybe he give you some other therapy....... |
