Ok, Sharpies say they are NON toxic, how is it possible to get high of them?

Issue
Every time I write on my cds and close the cap for the sharpie, I can still smell the fumes and I was wondering if it causes brain damage? It says non toxic on the marker >.<

Best Tip
The fumes that you smell coming off of your sharpie are alcohol fumes. These alcohol fumes might smell funny, but they are harmless in small quantities, which is why sharpies are considered to be non-toxic. The bottom line is that it is perfectly safe to write on your CDs with Sharpies. They're not going to cause brain damage.

If you're interested, Sanford has published Material Safety and Data Sheets (MSDS) for all of their Sharpie products. The MSDSs will tell you everything you'd want to know about the chemicals in a Sharpie and any toxicology information related to those chemicals. However, if you do look, you'll find that there really aren't any health issues mentioned:

lol, no, it can't cause brain damage...not unless that was all you breathed for a while, but seeing as you are only writing on CD's, you should be fine. and you can get "high" off of markers like Sharpies, because they inhibit oxygen circulation, which leaves you feeling "high."
my friend totally got high off of sharpies just the other day i saw him in the hallways and asked for some weed and he said he didnt have any i told him BS! you do, but he just said he was sniffing sharpies all last period, its possible
Maybe when they say non-toxic, it means to not be ingested. They are not counting on the massive amounts of kids getting high on them, or maybe they think its just not their problem. Buts thats another story.
your brain needs oxygen not sharpie smells to work right...replacing oxygen with sharpie smells will make you high like sticking a dead rat up under your nose will make you vomit.
