What is a normal clonazepam dosage? |
Issue i'm hovering at 1.5mb right now but i am building a tolerance, i'm going to check with my doctor and see what i can do, but since it's sunday night just wondering if anyone can give me an estimate of how far it is possible to go Best Tip The initial dose for adults should not exceed 1.5 mg/day divided into three doses. Dosage may be increased in increments of 0.5 to 1 mg every three days. Maintenance dosage must be individualized for each patient depending upon response. Maximum recommended daily dose is 20 mg. The use of multiple anticonvulsants may recruit in an increase of depressant adverse effects. This should be considered before adding Klonopin to an existing anticonvulsant regimen. Try these Bipolar Self-Assessment Tests: Source(s): http://www.blackdoginstitute.org.au/bipo... http://www.thehealthcenter.info/selftest... Others I have always taken 1.5 mg (3 of .5 ) at night. My doctor says one can safely take up to 8 mg. a day, but I have never known anyone that takes that much.....when I started building up a tolerance to it, he added 100 mg of Seroquel at night and did not increase the clonazapam....works for me beautifully. I sure wouldn't take more without doctor's advice. it could be that you are going into a manic phase where you don't sleep......that is what I do, but I always call my doctor before I change anything It conerns me that you are experiencing this much anxiety tonight.....if you deem it necessary, I would go to the ER tonight if you can't calm down....better safe than sorry (meaning if you can prevent a triggering of bi-polar) I took this for 13 years and weened myself off...I was at 4 mg.s per day, perhaps a chip off of another would help and I am NOT a doctor, perhaps you do need something to help potentiate it. I recommend seeing your Doctor tomorrow....the DX may surprise you. he may make it two, but hon, this is the hardest of the benzos to come off of , so I would take the potentiation rather than upping the dose. That amount would NEVER have worked for me, but we are all different. What we have in common is this, building up a tolerance quickly. THAT can be scary. Another medication in the meantime may be just what was mentioned in the other answer. i disagree with Seroquel terribly, but that is me. Ask your Doctor. something else may be the culprit here in stress land tho it should be abating askenesthia....or RLS ~ Restless Leg Syndrome, for which this is prescribed commonly, people are not privy to the word is all.......If what you are taking is NOT working then something else is. Find out I would be glad to know.......(tho I wont) I wish you the best. .5 mg-----up to 4 per dy. for an adult. hopefully, you're being monitored by a psychiatrist because clon.... usage over an extended period can lead to dependency. i'll say a quick prayer for you. there has to be an emotional reason to be taking clon..... so be kind to yourself. there is room for an increase in your dosage. at one time i was taking much more clon.... than you are on, per dy. when my psychiatrist felt it was time for me to come off the drug, it was done slowly over a period of at least 12 months. best of luck. |
