Help: I occasionally wake up in the middle of the night disoriented and frightened of everything..?

Issue
I woke up in the middle of the night so frightened (I was frightened of inantimate objects in my room, and I felt really weird) I was yelling because I was so scared and ran to my dad's room. It wasn't a nightmare. It was a night with no dreams. I just woke up in a frightened, disoriented state. I diddn't really know what was going on or where I was for the first 30 seconds. It was "pure terror". What is the cause of this? It wore off after a few minutes, my mind was in a really scared/disoriented state and everything looked odd for a few minutes after I woke up, but for some reason, I was so scared

Best Tip
night terrors, see a doctor

The clowns are gonna GET YOU
Get a night light. Maybe you will recognize your surroundings if you wake up in the middle of the night.
These are called night terrors and are usually caused by a chemical imbalance in your brain.... get a CAT scan if you can afford it, if not try eating some dark chocolate before bed.
This sounds like a sleep disorder. It could be night terrors or it could be REM sleep behavior disorder where you are actually acting out your dreams or possibly just a strange case of sleep inertia. It is important that if this continues to see a doctor. Sleep disorders are extremely common and help is necessary at times for coping with them.
Panic attack maybe. My dad used to go through that because he was depressed.
Try to get light in your room.Maybe you can get a partner (like your brother) to sleep with you.Don't think of anything before you get sleep. And make sure you wash your feet before get sleep.See doctor as well.
