big red swollen painful bump?

Issue
i have a very painful bump under my armpit that got there by breaking the skin intially to get the hair out...i have done that for a while now but this is the first time, there is some type of infection. maybe??? It's very swollen and red all around the it and then a zit type of thing on top. and underneath all the red, is like a small ball size that hurts to the touch. I can't go to the doctor's til tuesday...what can i do in the meantime to help it, maybe possibly go down..that way i do not have to go to the doctor's.

Best Tip
Could be a boil, could be an enlarged lymph gland. Sounds infected to me.

Hot compresses, keep it clean, neosporin or triple antibiotic.

But in my opinion, since the location is close to the lymph glands.

Go to the MD sooner than Tuesday.

If it's a boil they can lance it, if it is an enlarged lymph gland could need antibiotics.

Prime example why the says don't pop a pimple, The pus never all comes out and some is always forced back down into the tissue.

Others
Sounds like a boil, and those are painful. Put a warm washcloth (as hot as you can stand it) on the affected area to coax it to drain. Once it drains, it'll feel a lot better once all that swollen pressure is out. You might have to do this for about an hour or so and it's pretty gross, but you'll be glad you did it. Also, use Neosporin with pain reliever in it, that helps a lot too.
you need to open it and then put peroxcide on it. to clean it out.
Sounds like a boil to me. Hold a warm cloth on it to try and reduce the swelling. Then go to the Dr. The ER may want to lance it (cut it) to relieve the pressure.'
Put a hot compress on it, like a hot water bottle or keep a hot wet washcloth on it for 20-minute sessions. This will help draw out the pus.
I'm a certified medical assistant.
It may be an infected hair root.

Needs antibiotics plus or minus lancing (cutting open to remove pus).
