*Health Issues>>>Other - General Health Care issues>>>Is my basement apartment causing my sinus problems? |
Issue I have always had sinus problems, but ever since I moved into a basement apartment, its been worse. I dont know if its the apartment or because its that time of year to have sinus problems? My apartment windows are at ground level. Best Tip its possible. Most basement apartments aren't well sealed, which makes them damp and musty...which is a definite cause for sinus problems. If you get yourself a de-humidifier, the problem should be rectified in a few weeks. The other thing is, if you have a cross-draft with your windows (and it isn't rainy or damp outside) that can help to make your apartment a better place to live. Source(s): I have lived in a few different basement apartments. Others it can be...living in the basement you get a lot of dust and pollen blown into apt. Also if you are near the furnace or laundry room it may aggivate your condition if the ventilation system is poor. Mold and mildew probably. it may be sue to the dampness. they say you can put a pan of charcol and it helps to obsorb the dampness Is it damp in there?? Do you have seasonal allergies? Fresh Air always helps me, maybe a humidifier would help also. I hope it Gets better for you!! Basements are typically more humid and consequently more prone to mold than other parts of the house. Both of these things could be causing sinus problems. You can try using a dehumidifier, but you would probably be better off moving to an apartment above ground. |
