I have had a lumbar fusion and recently a cervical fusion can most people live a semi-normal life.?

Issue
physical limitations

Best Tip
I had a lumber fusion last yr. and i can get around fairly well but now my problem is my left hip. I have to have a total hip replacement!!! When i had the fusion i lost 2 inches in height and i believe this threw my body all out of whack.......now i have a swollen right knee too...........i have severe scoloisis so i am still in pain.........you just have to learn how to live with it and most of all don't overdo ANYTHING!! When i do too much then it REALLY hurts the next day. Yes, i can't do all the things i use to but i do live a semi-normal life..........just take it EASY!!!!!!!!!

Others
I would think you can. I know of some people who have had both fusions, but separately, and they are just fine. Painfree and mobile with no problems. But not both lumbar and cervical together. This is something you should probably discuss with your doctor - you don't say why you had to have this done - is your spine disintegrating? Good luck and keep positive.
Sounds like you've been pretty banged up or have a serious medical condition.

Regardless, most people with fusions can lead a 'semi-normal' life. Make sure you're getting good medical care.
