Loss of signal in spine at L3-4, L4-5. What does than mean?

Issue
loosing strength in both upper legs, from back problems.

Best Tip
Typically that would indicate a loss in the nerve signal at the lumbar spine, between discs 3 and 4, 4 and 5. I'm assuming you've had either an MRI or a nerve conduction study (EMG) done recently and obtained that information from the report. Your physician should be able to discuss the meaning more in detail with you. Hopefully you've been referred to an orthopedist or spinal specialist. There are different conservative options available which should be recommended and attempted prior to more drastic procedures such as surgical intervention.

Others
may have a herniated disk which has gotten worse.....GO TO THE ORTHO DOC AND GET AN MRI.
Me too had back surgery nerve damage.
It means that you are very lucky. Once you get into the cervical vertebrae and above means damage to legs and arms with a possibility of being quadriplegic.

L2-3 and L4-5 means work to regain loss of strength in the legs. It means hard work.

Good luck to you or who ever you know that is undergoing PT to regain loss of strength. It will be hard work but it can be done. Count your blessings.
