Sever pain in muscle at the back of my neck on the rightside, had it loads of times after sleeping any tips?

Best Tip
This was my exact situation when I woke up yesterday morning! Some refelexology on your left hand will really help- it did for me.
The pressure point is directly under your pinky finger on the top crease of your palm. Put your right thumb on that spot, with your right forefinger on the back of your left hand. You'll have to massage it with some pressure, and you will feel that it is sore- because it correlates to your neck/back pain. After a couple of minutes, it should relieve a lot of the tension!
It worked for me, Good Luck!

Get a better pillow.............
change your pillow and your mattress. I know it's nasty but it's just a muscle cramp. Just in case check it with your GP.
invest in a good pillow that shapes itself to the contours of your head while you sleep. Also is should provide support to your neck and back.
The pillows with the magnetic fields in them are also good.
you are either doing 2 things wrong...

either you are sleeping on your stomach, which since you have to obviously tilt you head to sleep on your stomach that can cause cramps...
if this is the case, get a body pillow you can lay on so you will atleast be at a 45 degree angle...

if this isnt the case, you are prolly sleeping on your pillow wrong... it is best to get alittle pillow the you can have on your neck but you head will still be laying on the matress, if you dont have the kind of pillow, get a small kind of flat one and fold it... so then where it folds you can put that under your neck and your head will be on the flatter part.
new mattress? could be lack of salts
I have the same problem. I don't know the answer, but I know what makes it feel better. Get yourself one of those neck pillows that you can warm in the microwave. As you warm up that muscle that is in spasm in the back of your neck, you will be able to turn your head much more easily. Good luck.
