Issue
I was told that I had asthma as a baby and then out grow it. I don't remember having it. Well I recently had a cold and then bronchitis( I think it bronchitis I usually develop after a cold but don't have the money to go to the dr now). It been about a week but I am still wheezing alot. The cough sound productive but nothing really comes up. I lay in bed and listen to wheezing sound that comes out of me. When I wake up in the morning my chest feel so tight. I was just wondering if anyone develop asthma from bronchitis. I am also a smoker trying quick.

Thanks

I don't smoke... and I wake up very frequently with wheezing. I ended up in the hospital for four days and was diagnosed with asthma at that time. You need to see a doctor. By postponing my trip to the doctor to find out why I was having chest tightness and wheezing... I ended up with an asthma attack and hypoxia (lack of oxygen)... I spent two days on oxygen and had numerous breathing treatments, etc. I had a CAT scan and chest X-rays done as well.

Asthma is serious stuff, get to a doctor as soon as you can. Good luck!

you could have smokers lung as well. Sorry find the money see a Dr. If you can't find the money go to the county hospital get seen for free after years of whating.
It could be asthma or bronchitis. If it is bronchitis, go to a doctor. The reason is because infection or inflamation cause scar tissue in the lung. Over time and repeated infections, your lung capacity decreases.

When you are a smoker, you are damaging your lung's ability to heal. This may be why this is all lasting so long.

I DO have asthma and bronchitis definitely will bring on an asthma episode. That means about 6 weeks of antibiotics, and Prednisone and higher doses of inhalers, etc. Get thee to a doctor. (Oh, and quit smoking. It's doing nothing for you.)
You really should go see a doctor, you don't want the bronchitis developing into pneumonia.
Well you may have had asthma as a child but smoking wont help.I would know i have it to.You will grow out of it but ocasionally you may have an asthma attack.Smoking really only well...lets just say you wont be around much longer.Try to quit smoking and exercise and before you know it your weezes will be gone and you can do anything (accept the following:fly, survive a shot to the head, eat snake venom, drink fire, ect.)
i have asthma and learned alot about it in my 12 years of life.Yes i am only twelve.
I have asthma and I often get bronchitis. They tend to go hand in hand. STOP smoking, it will only worsen any asthma (if you still have it) and bronchitis. Plus its just.... ewww nasty:| I hope this helps.

Just when you thought you were finally over a cold, your chest starts to feel sore and you develop an irritating cough. Later, you might get the chills or a slight fever.

If these signs and symptoms sound familiar, you might have acute bronchitis, a condition that occurs when the inner walls that line the main air passageways of your lungs become infected and inflamed. Bronchitis often follows a respiratory infection such as a cold. And just as most people get occasional colds, virtually everyone has bronchitis at least once.

Most cases of acute bronchitis disappear within a few days without lasting effects, although coughs may linger three weeks or more. But if you have repeated bouts of bronchitis, see your doctor. You may have a more serious health problem 鈥?such as asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema 鈥?that needs attention.
