Chlamydia..?

I was diagnosed with chlamydia about 1 year ago took my antibiotics but I didn't go for a re-check. There was a lot of things going on at the time.. I went through depression due to other things and I just didn't care about a re-check. Now I am having my next Pap done in 2 weeks and I am soo nervous that It developed into pelvic inflammatory disease... I am not sure when I got chlamydia and I was for plenty of pap tests but they didn't find it until they had to search me for everything. So it could have been awhile.. how long does it take for it to turn into PID?? and i was also reading that PID has a relation to HIV.. is this true.. don't you have to come in contact with someone who has HIV to get it? Sorry i am a little panicked, I am a hypochondriac.. lol... does anyone know how effective the antibiotics are? anything would be helpfull. thanks :)

First, HIV and PID have nothing to do with each other - so relax. PID can cause other issues, to include sterility.

Antibiotics when taken as prescribed are very effective, but should you ever be treated for something in the future, make sure you go back for the last check.

I'm sure the meds did the job, unless you were re-infected...stop panicing and I have not heard of a link between pid and hiv, I'm sure you will be fine!!
If you didn't get a re-check that's a good thing you are going back to the doctor because you said you and your boyfriend had sex protected.Good but Bad if you had sex while your infection wasn't cured within 7 days you are in trouble go and see your doctor. GOOD LUCK
if you took your antibiotics and your partner did, that took care of the infection. if you got it from your man, you need to make sure you use a condom everytime cause you could get it again. (i'm not trying to say he's cheating or whatever) but yeah definitely use condoms EVERYTIME and just go to the doc and do an STD screening. i'm having one and i'm scared as hell, it's just normal to be nervous about those things. but it's definitely better to know than not know.
if you finished your medication and didnt get refected by who ever gave you it you ought to be ok but to be safe get the pap test redone as well bloodwork as well . pid. is a different thing it is pevlic inflamintory dease. and there aere .2. different things ?
you should be fine as long as you took all of the antibiotic there are alot of girls and guys who have is and it never goes detected until years or months later, and as far as the hiv part they tell you that with all std's because the chances are you caught it from someone who is no monogamious. it can cause birth defects in your children later on if you hadn't treated it like they could of been born blind and with dental problems and it can cause your fallopian tubes to be scared but that's only if you never took the antibiotic at all and went with it for years and years
PID and HIV are not linked...if you took your medication properly and as instructed and so did your boyfriend, and did not have sex with one another within that time you should be fine. But for piece of mind have another quick test purley to put your mind at rest. Good luck
