*Health Issues>>>STDs issues>>>Can you get herpes from someone using your toilet? |
Issue I just recently found out that a family member of mine has been infected with herpes, and this person often comes to my home, and of course uses the bathroom, I am worried about whether or not the virus can be passed on to the me and my family via the toilet or any other house hold items. Best Tip No. Genital herpes can NOT be passed to you or anyone from a toilet seat. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years now. I shared a bathroom with my two younger brothers almost all of those 5 years. Neither of them ever contracted genital herpes from me by using the toilet after me, or the sink or shower for that matter. I've also had other family members and friends use the toilet after me, and none of them have ever contracted genital herpes from using the toilet after me. Genital herpes is just not spread like that. If you are really concerned about it, you can always wipe it off with a disinfecting wipe after they use it. Usually genital herpes is ONLY spread by having sex with that person or having direct skin to skin contact with the area. There are other ways, like childbirth, but this is really rare. Source(s): Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years. Others Yes, if you have sex while you'r sitting on it. You can only contract the oral cold-sore type herpies from toilets. Not if he gets up before you sit down. no you cant catch any std by a toilet or sitting on a chair only by having sex But you can get crabs they jump Of course not, because herpes transmitted by sexual intercouse and by plasenta (in pregnant woman) |
