Issue Does any one know of any non perscription medications for psoriasis please be kind no BS? Best Tip The prescribed meds are all expensive and not great nor great for you, so I hear you on the non-scripted meds. As to that, I have found that things with at least 20% pure Shea Butter kick some serious ***. L'Occitone (a really fancy french company) sells a thick lotion that's 100% Shea Butter, but it leaves you feeling a bit sticky. I use that at home, and their 20% or 15% lotions when i'm going out, and it's really helped on my elbows and legs. Other than that, I now take daily vitamins which have made everything MUCH better: one woman's (for me) daily, and an Omega Complex, both from GNC stores. The Omega's need to be taken 1, 3 times a day, after meals. They include all the extra B Vitamins that Psoriasis makes one's skin need, so they really do help you from the inside, not just treating the symptoms (like the lotions help to do). Hope this helps! If so, please rank me highly so I can get some more points! Oh, and try to stay positive, by showing your skin (in t-shirts and shorts) it gets more sun and improves on it's own, as Psoriasis LOVES natural Vitamin D = the sun! :) Source(s): The National Psoriasis Foundatin (NPF), and nearly 8 years of trial and error with my own good ol' body! Others I used aloe vera straight from the plant. It's messy, but it works. Just make sure you trim the 'points' off the sides before applying, they are not fun. GL If it's on your scalp, use Neutrogena T-gel. It smells kinda yucky, but it works. Also, if it is on your arms or legs try rubbing fresh cut lemons on your skin (it may tingle a little). Good-luck :-) Sorry hon I don't know of any-my mother has delt with psoriasis for 52 years and she has it from head to toe(no kidding)All I can say is hang in there and don't be ashamed if yours is visible to everyone. i have heard good things about a product called skinzinc lye soap works very well on my toes :) |
