parietal hysterectomy?

Issue
after the removal of most of my cervics I was told I will more than likely have to have a hysterectomy leaving my overies has any one had one how bad is the recovery?

Best Tip
I am 28 and have had one done. I had laser surgery, which consists of 2 small cuts the size of your fingernail. The uterus comes out in pieces thru your vagina. The recovery isn't too bad. This is major surgery so you may have to stay in the hospital a couple days to make sure everything is fine. They have you get up the next day to walk, and like any surgery this will be painfull for about a week after that it will get better. Make sure someone is with you during recovery time.

Others
My sister had that, and it's major surgery. Expect two weeks of modified movement and activities. She said her pain was better after three weeks.
Though I've never personally had one...these days with laser surgery and well-supervised pain management, the recovery is little more than a nuisance. Of course every case is different, so the best person to discuss this with is your surgeon or anestesiologist.
Best of luck--really, it's not a BIG deal, so don't worry the small stuff!
